One of GMail's handier features that people are still surprised to learn about is the ability to make multiple, unique address aliases on the fly.
If your GMail address is example@gmail.com, emails sent to example+user1@gmail.com, example+user2.gmail.com, example+admin@gmail.com will all go to the root example@gmail.com address.
This is often touted as a handy filtering device within GMail, but I've come to rely on it during Drupal development. It's ideal for creating throw away e-mail addresses that I can use for user registration. This way,
- You don't have to maintain umpteen separate e-mail accounts for testing.
- You don't have to keep going back and deleting accounts to reuse a single address.
- All of those system welcome e-mail addresses go to one place.

Sub-addressing
That technique is called sub-addressing is available through many mail systems, including Gmail, Dreamhost, and FastMail.
By gosh
It works! Thanks! Very use-rful!
not just Gmail
This is a feature of most email systems. The only one that I've used that doesn't support this is Zimbra.
Thanks
Thanks, I don't know how I didn't know this already, but it's good to know.
great tip, never thought of
great tip, never thought of using aliases for this,
thx
Also worth noting
If you use an @gmail.com address you can also use a period "." at any point in the address to create a unique address that will still be delivered to the same place in the gmail domain.
Many email validators don't allow the plus "+" sign, this can work as a nice alternative for those cases.
myemail@gmail.com = my.email@gmail.com = mye.mail@gmail.com
How have i lived without
How have i lived without this knowledge all this time?! Thanks for this update on using both the "+" and "." to help filter incoming emails.

professionals. I thank you to help making people more aware of possible issues.
Great stuff as usual....
seo techniques
Very handy
I didn't know about this. With yahoo you can do something similar, but you have to create the aliases yourself. Gmail is like an onion... LOL
Fastmail Option
Apparently fastmail can manage multiple email addresses from different sources which can be read from one login. In addition to this when a reply is sent it uses that original email address, which will look more professional than a gmail address. e.g. myemail@mywebsite.com. I'm about to implement this system to resolve my current email disaster, fingers crossed.
Email sub-addressing
Fantastic tip - I just tried it on a test routine and it saved me over an hour of the most boring work. Thanks a lot!

Same with cpanel feature
Ussualy i use cpanel for my email and i can doing this tips in cpanel, but i never heard before we can do on Gmail too. nice info.
. Another possible answer
. Another possible answer for this is to use email aliasing, which is provided for many services, such as gmail. So, for example, if your email address is example@gmail.com, you can get also get mail at example+user1@gmail.com. I also checked out Content Profile and I don't think that will work for what you want, because you cannot create additional content profiles without an additional user -- you need one user per profile :-( If WorldFallz suggestion doesn't work for you, then check out the CCK option.
